Deadline: January 17, 2025, 11:59PM (HKT)
In a new partnership with the American Institute of Architects Hong Kong Chapter, Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong now welcomes applications for the ACC Hong Kong-Hsin Chong Foundation Young Architects Fellowship.
All architecture graduates with 10 years or less practice, who have Hong Kong permanent residency, can apply for the Fellowship. (Non-AIA members are eligible.) Proposals must be received by January 17, 2025, 11:59PM (HKT). This year’s theme is heritage architecture.
The Fellowship awards up to US$20,000 for up to six months in Japan. In collaboration with AIA Japan, the grantee will receive mentorship under Tomoaki Tanaka, Professor of the Department of Architecture at Meiji University, and a local organization specializing in heritage architecture.
The Fellowship includes participation in site visits, design workshops, and cultural immersion activities.
Applicants need to submit a design portfolio and a proposal outlining motivations and expected learning outcomes from the experience.
Once the Fellowship concludes, the Awardee is expected to provide a presentation summarizing the results of the Fellowship at an AIA Hong Kong event, as well as a Final Report for ACC Hong Kong, which includes a narrative description of the outcomes.
A jury will select a Grantee based on the quality of the proposal, professional merit, and the understanding of ACC’s mission of cultural exchange.
Interviews of shortlisted candidates will be held between February and April 2025. Announcement on the Fellow will be made in May 2025.
Applications will be accepted only via email; questions can be directed to acc@acc.org.hk and info@aiahk.org
