Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong Welcomes Alexandra A. Seno as New Director

Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong (ACC HK) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexandra A. Seno as its new Director, with immediate effect. With a decade of experience as an arts administrator, and a strong commitment to supporting culture, Alexandra brings a range of knowledge and expertise to her new role.

Daphne King Yao, Chairperson of ACC HK, expressed her enthusiasm about Alexandra Seno's appointment, stating, “As I begin my role as ACC HK Chairperson, I am excited to welcome Alexandra Seno as the Director of ACC HK. With her multi- faceted experience in the culture sector in Hong Kong and abroad, I am confident that she will be able to lead ACC HK into its next phase. I look forward to working together with her.”

"We are thrilled to have Alexandra as our new Director, following Josephine Wai’s retirement," says Judy Kim, Executive Director of ACC, based in New York. "Her passion and expertise will be a valuable asset to ACC as we continue our mission of advancing cultural exchange. We are excited to witness a new chapter of ACC HK under her leadership."

Prior to producing two documentary films, she spent five years as Head of Development at Asia Art Archive, also serving on the management and finance committees. Alexandra is an art and architecture critic, and has held key positions at and advised cultural organizations in Hong Kong and beyond.

She was on the executive committee of The Oriental Ceramic Society of Hong Kong, has been a board member of Para Site Art Space, and counselled Spring Workshop, an arts non-profit in Hong Kong. She is an advisory council member to the International Center of Photography in New York, as well as Singapore’s SEA Focus, a platform for visual art from Southeast Asia.

 

About Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong

Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong is a non-profit organization focused on supporting educational programs of cultural exchange for artists, architects, scholars, and arts professionals in Asia and the US. Since 1986, ACC HK has awarded more than 600 grants in 26 disciplines, principally to individuals and organisations from Hong Kong and China.

ACC HK is an affiliated foundation of the Asian Cultural Council, established in 1963 by John D Rockefeller 3rd, and has enabled approximately  6,000 international cultural exchange grants. Alumni include trailblazers like Yayoi Kusama (ACC 1964), Wucius Wong (ACC 1971), Kengo Kuma (ACC 1985), Chen Kaige (ACC 1986), Jin Xing (ACC 1988), Cai Guoqiang (ACC 1995), and Claire Hsu (ACC 2003).

ACC is headquartered in New York, with affiliated foundations in Hong Kong, Manila, Taipei and Tokyo.
