Nam June Paik – First Video Artist 1964 Fellow, South Korea
Nam June Paik was awarded an ACC fellowship in 1964 for his first trip to the U.S. to pursue collaborations in music composition with American artists. He is widely recognized as the first video artist and is remembered for his visionary insight into technology and its revolutionary power. In addition to the numerous international exhibitions of his work, the Nam June Paik Art Center (South Korea) was established in 2008 to honor his pioneering contributions in art.
